STURBRIDGE: William D. Spinney Sr., 90, of Sturbridge, passed away on October 30,2022, at his home with his family by his side. 

William leaves his wife of 66 years Lena (DiBonaventura) Spinney; his son Justin Spinney and his wife Cathy of Southbridge; his daughters Donna Salamida and her husband Frank of Orlando, FL, Brenda Russell and her husband Rich of Charlton; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

William was born in Southbridge son to the late Clayton Spinney and Doris (Devlin) Spinney. He was predeceased by his son William D. Spinney, Jr. in 2006. 

William attended Mary E. Wells Highschool and graduated in 1949. He joined the Navy after high school where he served for 3 years and was stationed in Cuba.

He opened Spinneys Automotive in 1964 where he was the owner and mechanic for 30 years and enjoyed restoring old cars.  He was a member of the Quinebaug Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Southbridge, for 55years. He established and ran the Banjo Pub in Sturbridge. William was a member of the Federated Church in Southbridge. 

The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for the excellent care that William received when he was at home.
