William Parker
July 30, 1934 — April 27, 2006
STURBRIDGE: William Sumner Parker, Sr. passed away on Thursday April 27, 2006. He was born on July 30, 1934 in Southbridge, MA. A life-long resident of Sturbridge, Bill spent his childhood on a family-run farm, Orchard Farm - Parker Brothers, that provided him with many wonderful memories.
He was a graduate of Cole Trade School in Southbridge, MA and went onto serve overseas in the United States Army.
He married Cecile Anne Thibeault of Oxford, MA on May 15, 1957. Together Bill and Cil raised their two children William Jr. and Bonnie.
Bill shared his love of the outdoors with his family. He taught Cecile and his two young children to ski and together as a family they shared a passion for this winter sport.
Bill and Cil were also avid hikers and canoeists. They spent many weekends and vacations in New Hampshire' s White Mountains. His love of these outdoor sports will live on in the hearts of his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Cecile, his son and daughter-in-law William Jr. and Karen Parker of Nashua, NH, his is daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Alan McEwen of Weston, MA, his sisters Susan Emerson of Hadley, MA, Dorothy Restall of Coventry, RI, Louisa Sando of Albuquerque, NM and is pre-deceased by his brother Alfred Parker.
Bill is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren Hamish and Garvin McEwen, Jacob, Rosie and Jordan Parker who will forever remember their " Papa."
His funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM Monday, May 1st, in St. Anne' s Church, Church St. (Off Rt. 20) Fiskdale. A calling hour will be held 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis, Central New England Chapter, 101A First Avenue, Suite 6 Waltham, Mass. 02451-1115.
