CHARLTON: Victor J. Racine, 73, of #6 Schoolhouse Rd., died Monday, January 20, 2014 in his home after being stricken ill. His wife, Jacqueline (Lamoureux) Racine died May 10, 2001. He leaves two daughters, Lisa M. Racine and her companion Kevin Dennett, of Sturbridge, and Leslie A. Kryger and her husband, Mike of Charlton, and stepson Brian Mahan of Indiana; two sisters Jeanette LeBoeuf of Oxford, and Alice Osowski of Southbridge; several nieces and nephews all of whom called him “Uncle Junie.”
He was born in Southbridge, the son of Victor and Christina (McDonald) Racine and lived in the area all his life.
Vic retired after 20 years of service from the Radius Health Care Nursing Center where he was in charge of maintenance. Previously he worked at Charlton Woolen Mills in Charlton for many years. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters. He enjoyed his home, yard work, cooking and liked to “take it easy.” His house was always the family gathering point during the holidays.
His funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 24, 2014 in Saint Joseph’s Church, H. Putnam Rd in Charlton (please go directly to the church). Calling hours will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St, Southbridge, MA.
