SOUTHBRIDGE: Thomas J. Ford 68 of Charlton St. died Tuesday, October 29th, in his home after a long battle with cancer.
He leaves his fiancée Gladys E. Proper and her two sons John and Steven, a son Thomas F. Ciummei and his wife Melissa and two grandchildren Madison and Cash of Ireland. He also leaves two step sons Jeff Chalmers and Johnny Chalmers and his children Nicholas and Christopher and his partner Laura Ames. He also leaves two step daughters Dawn Marie Chalmers and her life partner Sue-Ellen and Autumn Jones and her husband Brandon and their children Nate and Elizabeth.
He was born in Pennsylvania the son of the late Thomas J. Ford Sr. and Helen (Feder) Ford from Florida and his late sister Dolly, he lived in Southbridge for many years.
He was a self-employed painter and construction contractor.
Tom enjoyed collecting sail boats and going to antique car shows. He owned several antique cars.
He was a friend of Bill W for 17 years and also enjoyed going to church with Gladys at Qubaug Valley Baptist Church.
His funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, November 3rd. in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Agawam MA at a later date.
