N. OXFORD: Thelma E. (Jackson) Johnson, 84, of Ennis Road died Thursday, March 24 in Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Thelma is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years (together for seventy one years), Wilfred Johnson; two sons: Brian Johnson of New York and Dennis Johnson of South Carolina; five daughters: Carol Clement of Arizona, Linda Holka of Arizona, Sheila Mongeon of Webster, MA Kathleen Symczak of Sturbridge and Colleen Mickusick of Ware, MA; one grandson, who was raised as their son, Shawn Johnson; her brother James Jackson of Florida and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Thelma is predeceased by her two sons: Daniel Johnson and Peter Johnson and her grandson, Cory Bettencourt.
Thelma was born on December 4, 1931 in Dudley, MA to the late Everett and Victoria (LaSalle) Jackson and lived in the area all her life.
Thelma enjoyed gardening, flowers and especially loved birds. Thelma and her husband did stained glass for many years with her husband together and also had a very large greenhouse.
A funeral service will be held Monday, March 28 at 11:00 A.M. in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA.
Memorial contributions may be made to benefit Wilfred Johnson.
