Stanley F. Kochanowski, a distinguished resident of Old Town Road, peacefully passed away on February 25 at UMASS Harrington, surrounded by loved ones after a period of illness. His legacy endures through his devoted wife and lifelong companion, Shirley Kube, and their children: Jean Boucher IV with his beloved wife Samantha of Sturbridge, Tanya Boucher with her loving partner Luis Garcia of Southbridge. He is also fondly remembered by his sister Sandra of Palmer, Aunt Betty (Elizabeth) Raphaelson of Holden, and cherished grandchildren Jayden, Jianna, Sunny, Josiyah, Luis, Shania, Nathan, and Sandra. His very close friends Laurie Colon and Donna Murphy and daughter Stefanie Sudol with her loving husband Steven of Putnam, CT, and sons Scott Kochanowski of Dudley, Keith Kochanowski of Norwich, CT.
Born in Southbridge to the late Stanley and Stefanie (Sermet) Kochanowski, Stanley's roots ran deep in the community where he spent many of his 78 years. A proud veteran who honorably served in the US Navy aboard the USS Sierra AD18 during the Korean and Vietnam Wars following his graduation from Springfield Technical High School. Post-military service, Stanley embarked on a fulfilling career in carpentry specializing in finishing work and roofing until his well-deserved retirement.
Outside his professional life, Stanley found joy in riding his Harley motorcycle along open roads, casting a line while fishing, and sharing moments with his faithful companions Crystal and Harley. As a dedicated family man and skilled tradesman with a love for adventure on two wheels or serene days by the water's edge with a fishing rod in hand - Stanley epitomized a life lived fully.
In accordance with Stanley's wishes, a private funeral service was held to honor his memory solemnly at the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home on Marcy St., Southbridge.
May he be remembered for his commitment to family, service to country, craftsmanship that shaped homes for generations to come—and may he rest in eternal peace
