Simonne Caouette

SOUTHBRIDGE: Simonne Marie (Peloquin) Caouette, 94, Passed away on June 22, 2021 at Lanessa Extended Care with her family by her side.

Simonne leaves her son Raymond Caouette, Jr. and his wife Faye of Southbridge; her daughters Yvonne Tortis and her husband Nick of Southbridge; Lydia Brunell and her husband Larry of Southbridge. Her grandchildren Jason French and his wife Justine, Jenna (French) Boucher, Lauren Rae Brunell, Lance Brunell, Breanne Caouette, Kelsey Caouette; great-grandchildren Brett French, Hanna French, Abigail Cortis and her son Jacob; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond J. Caouette, Sr. in 2004. Her daughter Kimberly Ann Caouette; Her brothers Hyacinthe Peloquin and Roger Peloquin. Simonne was born on November 24,1926 in Windsor, CT to the late Hyacinthe Peloquin and Laudina (Lavallee) Peloquin of Canada. At the age of 10 Simonne moved from Sorel, a province of Quebec, Canada to Southbridge where she was adopted by her late uncle Fredric Leduc and her aunt Yvonne (Lavallee) Leduc of Southbridge. Simonne married Raymond J. Caouette, Sr. on November 30,1946. She worked at American Optical Co., was a waitress at Spectown Diner and Metros Brothers. She worked at the vending company Stevens Automatic Sales in Southbridge, and later worked as a housekeeper at Notre Dame Parish. Simonne was a parishioner of St. Anne’s Church and St. Patrick’s Parish in Fiskdale, MA. She also was a Lady of St. Anne’s at Notre Dame Parish in Southbridge. She was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and very prayerful. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots play. Simonne’s family would like to thank the Lanessa Extended Care staff, Nurses, C.N.A’s, and the Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts for the excellent care, kindness, and compassion extended to their mother Simonne and to the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday June 25^th from 8:30-9:30AM in the Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Followed by a Mass at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville Street, North Grafton, MA A private burial for Simonne will be held at a later date.
