Shirley E. (Nichols) Thompson, 84, of Cole Ave. died Friday, Sept, 1st, at home after an illness. She leaves her husband of thirty nine years, Chester Thompson, and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Sturbridge, the daughter of Roscoe W. and Lysle (Davenport) Nichols and lived in the area most of life. She was a teller at the Palmer Savings Bank and later was a receptionist at Galileo Fiber Optics. She was an avid artist and participated in local art shows and enjoyed hooking rugs. Her funeral will be held at ELEVEN AM, Wednesday, Sept. 6th in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will be in Brimfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
