Sharon Kostigen

STURBRIDGE:  Sharon Louise (McDonald) Kostigen, 69, of Heritage Green Drive died Monday, December 28, 2015 after a brief battle with an illness.  

Sharon leaves behind her husband, Alfred Kostigen, whom she was married to for twenty nine years.   In addition Sharon leaves two sons:  Brian McDonald of California and Todd McDonald-Gonzalez and his husband, Gus of California; one daughter: Dawn McDonald-Pozerski of California; five grandchildren: Kelsey Pozerski, Erin Pozerski, Daniel McDonald, Lisa McDonald, and Sarah McDonald; two brothers: Terry Huntley of Florida and Perry Huntley of Texas; two sisters: Cindy Hough of Texas and Diane Hough of Arizona; three sisters-in-law: Donna Tracy and her husband Mark and Doreen Zeller and her husband Gary, all of Bridgewater and Linda Mullen and her husband Richard of Taunton.   

Sharon was predeceased in 1989 by her first husband, Francis McDonald.  

Sharon was born in Millinocket, Maine, on October 14, 1946, the daughter of George R. and Gertrude M. (Huntley) Birt.   

Sharon worked in reservations at the Yogi Bear Campground prior to her retirement.  She was a very active member of the Sturbridge Senior Center and Heritage Green Community.  She was known for really “getting the place going.”  She enjoyed playing Bingo.  Sharon was an extremely dedicated parishioner at St. Anne's Parish in Fiskdale. Sharon enjoyed time spent with family and friends most of all.  She will be deeply missed.

Calling hours will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Anne’s Parish, 16 Church Street, Fiskdale, MA 01518.
