Salvatore â??Salâ? DiPaola, age 63, owner of Dico Landscaping of Punta Gorda Florida, died on Sunday, April 20, 2008, following a short illness.
He was born March 18, 1945, in the Southbridge, MA. He was the son of the late Domenic G DiPaola and late Marjorie (Lowell) DiPaola. Formally of Holland MA, Sal attended Cole Trade School in Southbridge, MA and graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge, MA. Sal served in the U.S. Navy, and was stationed at Charleston Naval Shipyard, SC. On September 23, 2000, he was united in marriage to Debra Stricklin Akers in Punta Gorda, FL.
Formerly of Holland, MA, Sal moved to Port Charlotte, FL he owned and operated Dico Landscaping. He previously worked for American Optical Company in Southbridge, MA.
Sal was a member and former President of the Wellsworth Athletic Association, the Quarter Century Club of the American Optical and an active member of the American Legion, the VFW, FOE and Moose Lodge.
Sal is survived by his wife, Debra, his son Anthony DiPaola and three grandchildren, Kourtnie, Ryley & Connor DiPaola of Port Charlotte FL. his sister Donna Boulanger-Gopfert of Pittsfield, MA. He is further survived by his Aunt Frances, wife of Bernard Beaupre of Southbridge, MA, cousins and many friends.
A funeral Mass will be held for Salvatore DiPaola on Tuesday, April 29 at 10:00AM in St. Maryâ??s Church, Hamilton Street, Southbridge. Burial will be at St Maryâ??s Cemetery, Charlton Street, Southbridge, MA. There are no calling hours.
