STURBRIDGE: Ruth (Erickson) Faxon , 99 formerly of Mt. Dan Rd. died Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Southbridge Rehab and Healthcare.
Her husband Herbert Faxon died in 1968.
\She leaves her son Thomas H. Faxon and his wife Lori Faxon of Sturbridge, 2 daughters: Carol Tremblay and her husband Richard and Linda Levesque and her husband Albert both of Sturbridge; 10 grandchildren: Karen Olszta, Lisa Perreault, Kevin Lariviere, Lynda Garieri, John Trombley, Laurie Lacaire, Robert Lavesque, Debra Pillsbury, Thomas Faxon and Timothy Faxon; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A daughter, Janet Ryczek; two brothers: Carl and Clifford Erickson; and two sisters: Gertrude Zak and Doris Haigh all predeceased her.
Ruth was born in Southbridge, MA the daughter of Carl J.and Stella (Lafortune) Erickson and lived in the area most of her life. She worked for Universal Tag in Dudley for many years.
At one time she owned and rode her own motorcycle, played the piano, was an accomplished artist and an enjoyed fishing. She also worked for her son at Faxon-Midway Flea Market.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm Street in Southbridge, MA. Burial will be in the spring.
