CHARLTON: Ronald W. Bertrand, 66, of Southbridge Road, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, in his home, after an illness. He leaves his companion of 20 years, Peggy Beane; a son, Ronald P. \"Rascal\" Bertrand of Holland; three daughters, Michelle Krueger of Southbridge, Ronda Bertrand-Robbins of Cherry Valley, and Amanda Bertrand of Charlton; three brothers, Wilfred Bertrand of Brimfield, David Bertrand of Spencer, and Robert Bertrand of Ware; 2 sisters, Beverly Pratt and Judith Bertrand of Southbridge; five grandchildren, Kevin, Theresa, Steven, Brook, and Jake; and many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by two brothers, William in 1989, and Lawrence in 1999. His step-son, Kenneth Morrow, also predeceased him in 1995.
He owned and operated Ronnie\'s Cycle for many years. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, stock cars, and dwarf cars. He enjoyed playing string instruments and the keyboard, and was a member of his family band called the Attic Band. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and the AHRMA Vintage Motorcycle Racing Association.
His funeral will be held at 10am Monday, March 24, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge. Calling hours will be 6-9pm, Sunday, March 23, in the funeral home.
