SOUTHBIDGE : Roger Bertrand, 85, of Main Street Southbridge died Saturday, Aug. 18. After an illness. His wife Carrie (Morrissey) died May 14, 2017.
He leaves a daughter Donna Paine and her husband Harold of Southbridge, a son Roger A. Bertrand of Southbridge, two sisters Shirley Buchanan of Southbridge, Connie Thompson of Southbridge, 2 grandchildren Christopher Paine and Kevin Bertrand.
He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Richard Bertrand, Norman Bertrand, Ruth LaFlash, Theresa Prunier.
He was born in Southbridge the son of the late Antonio and Lillian (Provost) Bertrand and lived in the area all his life.
He served in the US Marines during the Korean War.
Roger was a painter for most of his career. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family, the Black Dog Restaurant, going to the casino and could be seen riding his scoter throughout the Main Street area.
A graveside service with full Military Honors will be held at 2PM n Tuesday, September, 4, at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Cemetery, Main Street Agawam.
Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
