He was predeceased by his son, Peter St. John, who passed away in October. The son of Perley and Helen (Bader) St. John, Robert was born in Marlborough, MA, living in Clinton and Sterling before settling in Sturbridge, where he shared a home with his fiancée Nancy.  For many years, he co-owned and operated Mello’s Sporting Goods in Clinton.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time at his computer, and feeding and watching the many birds in his yard.  Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and many, many friends, all of whom loved him and will miss him tremendously.  The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the nurses at St. Vincent’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Calling hours will be on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, MA.  A memorial service will follow at a later date.
