Robert Lindsay Sr.

STURBRIDGE - Robert H. Lindsay, Sr., 83, of Shattuck Rd., died Friday, July 16, in his home after an illness. His wife Vivian L. (Cloutier) Lindsay died in 1998. He leaves a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Brousseau, and her husband, Gene, of Sturbridge; a cousin, Jane Johnson, of Mystic, CT; two grandsons, Christopher Lindsay, and his wife, Melody, and David Lindsay; 2 step-granddaughters, Shanon Sabourin, and her husband, Jim, and Laurie Rivard, and her husband, Nick; 4 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren. His son, Robert H. Lindsay, Jr., died July 13, 2001.

He was born in Boston, the son of the late Charles and Johanna (Kappler) Lindsay, and lived in the area many years.

He retired from the American Optical Co. after many years of service. After his retirement he worked for the town of Sturbridge at the recycling center. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and owned an Indian and BMW motorcycles. He was a member of The Archie Riders Club. He also enjoyed hunting.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

His funeral will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 21^st in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Calling hours are 5:00PM to 8:00PM, Tuesday, July 20, in the funeral home.
