Southbridge: Richard LaVallee, 69, of Charlton St., Southbridge, died
Sunday, December 24, surrounded by his family at St.Vincentâ??s
Hospital, after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Carol
A. (Macuga) LaVallee, a son Christopher LaVallee of Los Angeles, Ca.,
two daughters Jennifer Loughran of Farmington, Ct. and Amy LaVallee of
Centreville, Va.; his mother Alma (Lemoine) LaVallee-Saulnier of
Charlton, a brother Leo LaVallee of Whitney Island, Oak Harbor, WA; a
sister Anne LaVallee of Charlton, one nephew and one niece. He is predeceased by a brother Paul LaVallee. He was
born in Southbridge, the son of the late Edgar A. LaVallee.
He graduated from St. Joan of Arc Elementary School, Mary E. Wells
High School, and earned his BS degree at the University of Connecticut
School of Pharmacy where he was a member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical
fraternity Nu Chapter. He owned LaVallee's Pharmacy in Southbridge for
33 years and then worked for Spring Street Drug in Springfield until
the time of his death. He was also the Chief Engineer for WESO Radio
in Southbridge for many years. He recently fulfilled his dream of
visiting and touring Montigny, Normandy, France, the place where his
ancestry began. His greatest joy was his three children. His funeral
will be held at 9:00AM, Thursday, December 28, from the
Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge followed with
a Mass at 10:00AM in Notre Dame Church , 446 Main St. Burial will
follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Wednesday, December 27^th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions
