Renee A. Dexter, affectionately known as "Ney," was a radiant soul who touched the lives of many before her untimely passing on August 18, 2024, at the age of 34, in her home in Southbridge.
Born on May 4, 1990, Renee grew up to embody a bright and joyful spirit, one that was always characterized by her infectious laugh and the bounce in her step.
After graduating from Bay Path Regional High School, Renee embarked on a fulfilling career at McDonald’s, where she not only excelled but also rose to the esteemed position of manager. Her accomplishments in the workforce were a testament to her hard work, dedication, and her genuine love for connecting with others. She always had an open ear and a warm laugh ready for anyone who needed it.
Family was everything to Renee. Her children, Yaliz and Julian Estremera, were her proudest achievements, and nothing brought her more joy than spending quality time with them. The holidays were particularly special for her, filled with the laughter and love that she cherished deeply. She also shared enduring bonds with her sisters—Christine, Stephanie, Jacqueline, and Demerice—making every moment spent together a joyful celebration of their sisterhood.
Renee had a magnetic and magical personality that drew people to her. People often described her as always happy, with a smile so contagious that it could light up even the darkest room. She had a penchant for all things beautiful—flowers, glitter, and nature. Whether it was capturing memories on social media or enjoying a day at the beach, her zest for life was a source of inspiration for those around her.
Though she leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, Renee is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Sandberg, whose memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A visitation to honor Renee's life will be held on August 25, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home in Southbridge, MA.
Ney's kindness, laughter, and vivacious spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her children, sisters, step-father Paul Sandberg, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her light continues to shine in the hearts of those she touched.
