Charlton: Raymond Joseph Ciani, 64, of Lincoln Point Road died Monday, April 13 in St. Vincent's Hospital.
He leaves his wife Susan Ciani, a daughter Brenda MacGrath and her husband Todd of Charlton; 3 sons: John Ciani and his wife Noreen of Charlton, Clay Ciani and his wife Melissa of North Grosvenordale, Ct., and William Ciani of Chicago, Il.; 4 step-daughters and 1 step-son; 8 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Legacy) Ciani in 2002 and his companion Jody (Chapman) Marcille in 2011.
Ray was born in Southbridge, MA the son of the late Raymond and Barbara (Warren) Ciani and lived in the area all his life.
Ray was a member and Past Master of the Quinebaug Lodge of Masons A.F. & A.M. in Southbridge. He was a Past Grand Scribe of the Boston Chapter, a Past High Priest of Doric Royal Arch Chapter of Masons, Representative to the Grand Council of Boston, a member of the Order of Anointed High Priests, honorary member of the Eureka Chapter of Worcester, Illustrious Master of Hiram Council, Commander of the Worcester County Commandery #5 Knights Templar. Ray also did the Masonic Lodge breakfast in Southbridge for over 15 years. He served on many boards and helped with raising funds for the betterment of the lodge and the local community.
He worked at Smith and Wesson, gun manufacturer, before he started his own construction company 35 years ago.
His funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 17 at St. Joseph's Church, H. Putnam Road, Charlton. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be 5:00PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 16 in the Belanger Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA.
