MIDDLETOWN, OH: Ramon Rivera, 51 of Middletown (formerly of Southbridge) died Thursday, January 25, 2018 after being stricken ill in Ohio State University Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Licie Valentine, whom he was together with for thirty-seven years; his son: Raymond Rivera of Middletown, Oh; his daughters: Deborah Rivera of Middletown, OH, Ruth Rivera of Middletown, OH and Sasha Rivera of Middletown, OH; his brothers: Samuel Rivera of Southbridge, Ezequiel Rivera of Southbridge, Daniel Rivera of Springfield, Isaias Rivera of Southbridge, David Rivera of Southbridge and Moises Rivera of Southbridge; his sisters: Iris Millian of Southbridge and Cecilia Rivera of Southbridge; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Ramon is predeceased by his son Eliezer Rivera in 2013 and his sister Josefina Hernandez.
Ramon was born on July 20, 1967 in Newark, New Jersey to the (late) Cecilio Rivera and Maria Hernandez.
Prior to moving to Ohio four years ago, Ramon lived in the area all his life working as a cook at the Publick House and Rom's Restaurant.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2 at 9:00 A.M. in Igelesia Pentecostal Del Dios Vivo, 125 Marcy Street, Southbridge with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge, MA at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be held in Iglesia Pentecostal Del Dios Vivo, 125 Marcy Street, Southbridge on Thursday, February 1 from 3:00-8:00 P.M.
