Brookfield: Ralph A. LaFlamme, 78, of Rice Corner Rd. died Thursday, Sept. 15, in
Harrington Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill at home. His wife Irene (Chartier)
died in 2001. He leaves a daughter Jeanne Lurie of Decatur, Ga. two brothers George
LaFlamme of Charlton, Roger LaFlamme of Southbridge, a half brother Fred Morin of
Southbridge, five grandchildren Jane Lurie, John Lurie both of Decatur, GA.; Henry Logan
Jr, Andrew Logan, Alexander Logan all of Miami Springs Fl, two great grandchildren
Luci Logan, Analife Logan and his companion Sandra Farinella of Brookfield. He was
predeceased by a daughter Rita Logan in 2000, and a grandson Timothy Hormidas Logan
in 1980.
He was born in Southbridge the son of Henry and Lillian (Douquette) LaFlamme
and lived in the area all his life. He served in the Army.
Mr. LaFlamme was a painter and wallpaper for TP Morin Co. in Southbridge. He well
know for his work in preservation and rehabilitation of historical buildings in the area. He
was a longtime member and on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club
where he taught gun safety courses, and chaired several events. He ran the gun club' s
fishing derby and received a recognition plaque for his outstanding achivenmts at the club.
A private graveside will be held at St. Anne' s Cemetery in Sturbridge. There are no
calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one' s choice.
