SOUTHBRIDGE: Phyllis (Gould) Thompson, 78, of Hillside Rd. died, Monday, Dec. 24, in Overlook Masonic Healthcare after an illness. She leaves her husband of 57 years, Howard Thompson, a daughter Cynthia J. Giroux and her husband Jerry of Southbridge, two sons Wayne G. Thompson and his wife Marilee of Menlo Park, Ca. and Darrell H Thompson and his wife Jennifer of Oceanside, CA. four grandchildren, Erin Giroux, Renee Giroux, Hunter Thompson, Ava Thompson. She was predeceased by her brother Eldred Gould.
She was born in Springfield the daughter of the late Eldred and Mary (Kenyon) Gould and lived here many years.
Mrs. Thompson graduated from Springfield Commerce High School. She worked for a law firm in Springfield.
After moving to Southbridge she ran an at home printing business. She also worked as a secretary for Elm Street Congregational Church and the Central Baptist Church.
She was a member of the Central Baptist Church and was a member of itâ??s choir and was a soloist.
She enjoyed camping with her family.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00AM, Friday December 28th in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursday, December 27th, in the funeral home.
