Phyllis Rutanen

SOUTHBRIDGE - Phyllis (Morse) Rutanen, 87, formerly of North Woodstock Rd., died Sunday, Feb. 27, at Radius Healthcare in Southbridge.  Her husband, Onni Rutanen, died in 1985.

She leaves 2 daughters, Susan Jarvais, and her husband, Richard, of Dudley and Carol Sansoucy of Woodstock, CT; 2 sons, Roy Rutanen, of Worcester and David Rutanen, of Feeding Hills; grand children, Renee Rutanen, Jade Schuyler, Jenny LaFond, Aja Jarvais, Niomi Jarvais, Jediah Jarvais, Ryan Sansoucy, and Sarah Rutanen, and 5 great grandchildren.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of George E. and Emma (Upham) Morse, and lived in the area all her life.  She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School.  She did homecare for many years.  She was an accomplished pianist, an avid reader and loved being with family and friends.

Her funeral will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, March 5th in the Central Baptist Church, 256 Main St. Southbridge. Burial will be in Morse Neighborhood Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
