SOUTHBRIDGE: Peter V. Szlosek Sr. 86, of Ashland Ave. died, Thursday, October 26, at Webster Manor. He leaves his wife of sixty years, Ella (Hartig) Szlosek, two sons, Peter V. Szlosek, Jr. of Southbridge, Gustav Szlosek and his wife, Erica, of California, a brother, Walenty Szlosek, Jr. of Southbridge, six sisters, Eleanor Szlosek, Brigid Siekierski, Helen Roberts, all of Southbridge, Louise Peterson of Florida, Wanda Zach of New York State, Theresa Hwalek of Connecticut, two grandchildren, Holly Szlosek and Lauren Szlosek, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Stanley, Winslow. and John, and by a sister, Rose Paciorski.
He was born in Southbridge, the son of Walenty and Amelia (Zajac) Szlosek, and lived here all his life.
He was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran serving with the Emergency Rescue Squadron with his best friend, Gustav Hartigand where they served in Okinawa and India.
He created the family business, Cedar Post Mfg, and operated it until his retirement. He and his family enjoyed cross country camping trips.
His funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 31st in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge.
