CHARLTON: Paul “Skip” Blauvelt, 76, of Center Depot Rd. died June 5, at Lanessa Nursing Home in Webster.
He leaves a son Richard Blauvelt and his wife Lisa of Charlton, a daughter Heather Blanchard and her husband Jeff of Dudley, his former wife Claudia (Mitchell) Blauvelt of Charlton, a brother William H. Blauvelt Jr. of Brookfield, 2 sisters Gloria Blauvelt of Charlton and Jane Desmarais of Spencer, 4 grandchildren Kayleigh, Zachary, Daniel, Julia and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister Gretchen Blauvelt.
He was born in Worcester the son of the late William H. Sr. and Phyllis L. (Ham) Blauvelt.
Paul was an active member of the Charlton City United Methodist Church, including singing in the choir, member of the Board of Trustees, the Men’s Club, and a lay leader. He was a generous donor of blood and platelets with the American Red Cross. He liked to travel and was a NASCAR enthusiast.
Paul retired as a programmer analyst from Commerce Insurance Co. after many years. He then worked part time Home Depot in Auburn.
His funeral will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, June 9 in the Charlton City United Methodist Church, 74 Stafford St.
Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 8PM Friday, June 8 in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
