SOUTHBRIDGE: Orel Belanger, 98 formerly of Charlton St., died Saturday, Feb. 26, at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster.

His wife Lucy Surprerant (daughter of John Suprenant and Mary Bouthillette) died in1984.

He leaves a son Ronald Belanger of Lawrenceburg, TN, a daughter Jeanne Dionne of Quinebaug, CT, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son Leon Belanger who died in an industrial accident in 1989. He was also predeceased by 3 brothers Armand, Romeo, Clem.

Mr. Belanger retired from the American Optical Co. and also worked for Russell Harrington.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, March 1st at 10:30AM in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51Marcy St., Southbridge with a Mass following at 11:30AM in Sacred Heart Church, Charlton St. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Charlton St.

Calling hours are 6:00PM to8:00PM Monday, Feb. 28, in the funeral home.
