SOUTHBRIDGE: Norman A. Poirier, 65, of School Street, died Friday, June 8 in Harrington Hospital after an illness.
He leaves a brother Robert and his wife Beverly (Lacasse) Poirier, two nephews Kevin Poirier and Troy Poirier, great nieces Meagan Poirier of Southbridge and Aurora Poirier of England. He was predeceased by a brother SGT. Paul Poirier who was killed in Vietnam and a sister Diane Poirier who died in 1995.
He was born in Southbridge the son of the late Eugene and Annette (Corriveau) Poirier and lived here all his life. He was in the last graduating class of Cole Trade Technical High School in Southbridge.
Norman was a tool and die maker for Pratt and Whitney Company for many years before he retired. After his retirement he worked for Pilot Gas in Sturbridge.
He collected stamps and was a movie buff,
His funeral services will be private.
