Norma Apostal

Southbridge – Norma (Prendi) Apostal, 94, of Southbridge passed away peacefully on April 22, 2016 at her niece’s home, surrounded by family.  She was born on August 15, 1921 in Southbridge to the late Yani and Eleni (Baba) Prendi.  Her beloved husband Vasil Apostal passed away in 1999.

Norma worked as an inspector at American Optical for many years.  She loved going to the casino and racetrack, where she enjoyed watching the horses and dogs.  She also loved watching baseball and golf.  Norma had a wonderful sense of humor.  She loved birds, especially cardinals, and always loved a good meal.  Norma especially loved the time she spent with her family, making cherished memories they will always carry in their hearts.

Norma will be deeply missed by her granddaughters, Kristen and Laura; great-grandchildren Ashley, Brittney, and Joseph; nieces Sandra Boutelle and her husband Curtis, and Rose Griswold and her husband Jim, and many other nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband Vasil, she was predeceased by her sons, Thomas and James, and her ten siblings.  The family would like to extend their appreciation for the exceptional care she received to her caregivers Cathy, Barbara, and Kris.
