SOUTHBRIDGE: Nancy C. Cloutier (Joy), 83, died peacefully on June 25th, 2017 at the Webster Manor surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 8, 1933, Nancy was the beloved daughter of Louise (Clemence) Joy Lavallee and Carl L. Joy.
Her husband, Normand died in 1999. She leaves behind five children: Michael A. Cloutier of Southbridge, David G. Cloutier and his wife Judy of Sutton, Cathleen Sherman and her husband Elwin of Norwich, CT, Wendy Reynolds and her husband Charles of Thompson, CT, and Mary Ellen Hashey and her husband Edward of Oxford. She leaves behind eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great- grandson on the way. She leaves many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a dear friend and companion, George Renaud and his family.
Nancy graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in 1952. She worked at the American Optical for 9 years. She then went on to becoming an Entrepreneur for Stanley Products, Dutchmaid Clothing and Friendly Home Parties for twenty-five years, a job that she truly loved and was proud of. She made many friends and memories along the way. For the next eighteen years, she and her companion George worked together at flea markets and also owned their own woodworking shop.
Nancy was an avid bowler, she took pride in being a Statistician and on the Board of Directors for the Southbridge Softball Association, which she was active in for twenty years. In her retirement years, she looked forward to trips to the casino, and she enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them all grow up.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary, at birth; her brother, Carl, who died in WWII; her brother Walter and sister, Barbara.
The family would like to thank the nurses and CNA’s on Unit 2 for all the wonderful care that was provided for their mother.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
A funeral service will be held immediately following the calling hours. A private graveside service will be held following cremation.
