Martina (Sornberger) Aldonis (Tina), 80, of Charlton MA., passed away on November 16, 2021 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, in Worcester, MA.
She is survived by her husband, Francis H. Aldonis, with whom she was married to for 53 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Randall C. Aldonis and his wife Michelle, of Rochdale, Terrie L. (Aldonis) Ayres, of Sterling, Amy L. (Aldonis) Lavoie, of Charlton, and a stepson, Mark Mitchell and his wife Linda, of Holland. One sister, MaryLou (Sornberger) Phelps and her husband Donald, of Gloversville, NY. One niece, Janine Baker of Worcester; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Jeffrey J. Aldonis and Paul S. Smith.
Born in Hanover, NH, she was the daughter of the late Orville Sornberger and Margaret (Boisvert) Haskins. She was raised and educated in Enfield, NH. Tina worked as an assistant savings manager for the First National Bank of Marlborough and after moving to Charlton she also worked for many years at the Wickaboag Veterinary Clinic. Tina’s love for dogs, especially border collies, was evident in how she raised and trained them. She entered her dogs in numerous dog competitions even entering them in the Westminster dog show. Growing up, Tina loved to water ski, she belonged to the Mascoma Lake Water Ski Club in Enfield, New Hampshire. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she also loved tending to her garden, bird watching, and would enjoy a good book.
A memorial service for Tina will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 515 Dennison Drive, Southbridge, MA. on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at 2 p.m.
