Marion Twiss-Buzin
April 13, 1923 — July 15, 2006
WORCESTER /STURBRIDGE , Marion (Manning) Twiss-Buzin, 83, formerly of Worcester, Sturbridge and Ft. Lauderdale, FL, died of natural causes on July 15th at her residence in Houston, TX. Her husband Manny Buzin died several years ago. She is survived by her three children Robert Twiss and his wife Joan of Sacramento, CA, Ann Beaudry and her husband David of Sturbridge, MA and Susan Power and her husband James of Houston; her sister Jean Acton and her husband Joseph of Manchester, NH; grandchildren Brian Beaudry and Jeffrey Beaudry, both of Sturbridge, Kevin Twiss of Sacramento; brother-in-law David Twiss and his wife Helen of Worcester; nieces and nephews Mary McCarthy, Karen Rallis, Owen and Kevin Acton, Kathy Auger, Peggy and David Twiss; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, long-term caretaker and friend, Ximena Monge,and her family Mariana and Francesca, Amparo Patino; and always faithful companion, her dog Romeo. Preceded in death by former husbands Robert Twiss of Naples, FL.
Marion grew up in the Burncoat Hill section of Worcester and graduated from North High School in the City in 1941, where she was the secretary of her class. After graduating from Salter College in Worcester, Marion worked at the Worcester Morning Telegram and Evening Gazette until her marriage in 1947 and the birth of her children beginning the following year. She also lived in Webster and Oxford before moving to Sturbridge in 1967. Marion subsequently worked at the Sturbridge Public Schools and Sturbridge Yankee Workshop before moving to Ft. Lauderdale in 1977, where she worked and retired from The Nations Bank at the Galleria.
Visiting hours are 4:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday, July 23rd in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge. Her funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM Monday, July 24th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary on Fales Street in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion's name can be made for her grandniece Brooke, who recently suffered a spinal cord injury, to the Brooke Rallis Rehabilitation Fund at Citizens Bank, 1550 North Elm St., Manchester, New Hampshire 03101.
