Maria Aviles Ortiz

WEBSTER: Maria Aviles Ortiz, peacefully passed away in her home on July 30, 2024. In Maria's final moments, she was surrounded by the boundless love of her family.

She is survived by her sons Anthony Lopez of Southbridge, Wilfredo Diaz of Southbridge, Jerry Diaz of Southbridge; brothers Diamaso Aviles Ortiz and Benito Aviles Ortiz; sisters Nimia Aviles and Vanin Aviles, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

She was born on August 4,1950, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, to the late Siraco Aviles and Santos Ortiz. She was predeceased by her beautiful daughter Elizabeth Lopez and granddaughter Emily Jyringi, her 2 brothers Carlos Aviles Ortiz and Fico Aviles Ortiz. 

Maria was widely recognized for her incredible skills as a taylor. Maria successfully ran her own business, her craftsmanship and unwavering commitment to her craft shone brightly in everything she undertook. Her knack for creating stunning dresses and clothing for her family has left behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Maria devoted herself to various hobbies and interests. She actively participated in the Kingdom Hall in Worcester where she fervently shared her faith through preaching. Her deep passion for arts and crafts illuminated the beauty she found in the world around her. She was an amazing cook who loved to share her talents with her family and friends. Having people over for meals and spending time together is what she cherished. Throughout her life, Maria's journey was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, dedication, and creativity. Her warm and inviting personality touched the lives of all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Calling hours will be held from 5-7PM on Friday August 9th in the Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, MA 01550. Followed by a Celebration of Life from 7-12AM at Marqis, 61 Chestnut St. Southbridge, MA 01550.
