SOUTHBRIDGE: Marguerite C. “Peggy” Ford, 71, of Eastford Rd, died Thursday, Feb. 13, at UMASS Medical Center, after a short illness.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Roger Ford; 2 daughters Sharon Ford and her partner Sam Blyther of Southbridge, Jessica Louyakis and her fiancée Jeremy Buteau of Southbridge; 2 sisters Lorraine Raymond of Sturbridge, Michelle Chenier of Southbridge; 4 brothers Paul Chenier of Mt. Laurel, NJ, George Chenier of Morriston, FL, Leon Chenier of Southbridge, Peter Chenier of North Tonawanda, NY, 4 grandchildren Jamal, Alex, Latisha, Jesslyn and nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was born in Southbridge the daughter of Pierre Paul and Anita (Larochelle) Chenier and lived in the area all her life.
Peggy retired from the Hyde’s Manufacturing in Southbridge. She previously worked and co-owned with her husband the Fork in the Road Restaurant, and the Hook and Ladder both in Southbridge and at one time worked at the Publick House in Sturbridge for many years. After her retirement, she was a waitress at the Elm Center Café in Southbridge.
She enjoyed shopping with HSN, QVC, playing computer games and was an avid bingo player, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Notre Dame Parish of the Blessed John Paul II Parishes in Southbridge.
Calling hours 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, February, 17, the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
Her funeral Mass will be held Tuesday Feb. 18, at 10:00AM in Notre Dame Church, 446 Main St. Southbridge .
Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Woodstock Rd. Southbridge.
