> HOLLAND Massachusetts: Marcella M. (Shafer) Ochs, 92, of Island Road, died Monday, June 4, at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital Worcester. Her husband, of 64 years, Harvey C. Ochs, died in 1996. She leaves her children, Christopher R. Ochs and his wife Sylvia, of Riverside, CA, their four children, Cynthia, David, Peter, and Nancy, and their seven grandchildren; Harvey R. Ochs and his wife, Jane, of Chatham, NJ, their two children, Sheryl and Patrick, and their four grandchildren; Marilyn Lee Gilbert and husband, Lawrence, of Lake Suzy, FL, their three children, Elizabeth, Erin and Sean, and their five grandchildren; Maureen B. Guido and husband, John, of Carmel, NY, their three children, John Jr., Laurie, and Christopher, and their eight grandchildren; Trish Ochs of Holland, MA, her daughter, Jennifer and husband, Mark, and three grandchildren.
Marcella was born in Born in, NY, where she lived most of he life before moving to Holland, MA. She was the most wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known as "Gammie" to all who loved her.

Marcella was a homemaker for 25 years and when all her children were in school or graduated, she began an extraordinary career. She graduated as the first woman from the American Institute of Banking after going to school for ten years at night, working full time at the Scarsdale National Bank and always putting her family first. She then became the first woman Sr. Executive Vice President for the bank in the 1960's, and if that wasn't enough went on to study and earn her Brokerage License and became a stockbroker in NY. She retired in her 70's and continued driving and traveling at the age of 89.
Up till her death her family and four legged companion, Jack, were her passion. She loved them all and will be deeply missed by those who loved her so.
