New Port Richey, FL. Ludger “Gerry“ Metivier, 73, died October 14tth at Morton Plant Hospital, FL after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 12 years, Carole (Bucci) Wheeler; his brother, Roger Metivier, of Linwood, MA; two daughters, Laurie Cincotta of Hampstead, NH and Cheryl Allen of Largo, FL; four granddaughters, Tara and Leah Cincotta and Catherine and Madeline Allen; and his great-grandson, Bentley. He also leaves three step-children - John Wheeler of Virginia Beach, VA, Lori Wheeler of Cumby, TX, and Dawn Wheeler of South Grafton, MA, along with five step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeannette Belanger. Gerry was born in Whitinsville, MA, the son of Ludger and Alice (Lemelin) Metivier, and he lived in the Blackstone Valley area until moving to Florida in August 2003. He worked for Smith Valve, Waters Associates, Koopman Lumber and Pine Grove Cemetery. He was very involved in Northbridge High School football and was quartermaster of the Valley Airs Drum and Bugle Corps. While in Florida, he worked part-time for Lowe’s and Ace Hardware until he retired. He was an avid Patriots fan and collected sports cards. He enjoyed collecting lighthouses, making puzzles and woodworking. He adored his dog, Marley. He will be missed by many. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Good Shepherd Church, Linwood, MA.
