Linda Dupont

CHARLTON: Linda (Packer) Dupont, 80, of Charlton, passed away on March 1, 2022, at the Overlook Masonic Health Center.

Linda was born in Elizabeth, NJ, daughter to the late Samuel Packer and Rose (Cherdak) Packer.

Linda attended Syracuse University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Education. After graduating she worked as a teacher where she loved to share her wisdom and inspire the minds of her students. She enjoyed teaching until she began her family. Eventually, as a single mother she worked hard to rise to the rank of VP at Dunhill Personnel, while raising her two children.

Linda’s love of cruise travel prompted her to start a side business at Cruises Inc. Not only did this passion turn into her full-time job, but she also became a franchise owner, always striving to provide excellent customer service. She was known by her clients to be extremely outgoing, light-hearted and detail oriented.

Linda met her husband of 43 years, Russell Dupont, at a local singles night event. It was love at first sight for these soul mates. Linda enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong, traveling in her RV, sailing, and spending time at her winter home in Florida.

She was extremely proud of both of her children and the amazing parents they grew up to be. Linda’s greatest joy in life was becoming a Bama / Grammy to her wonderful grandchildren; spending time with each of them and watching them grow was a very fulfilling part of her life.  

Linda will forever be remembered for her uncanny ability to make people smile, and exceedingly loving spirit - giving of herself to all she knew.

Linda leaves behind her adoring husband Russell; her daughter Risa Britton of Wilton, CT; her son John Dorman and his wife Melissa, of Springfield; and her five grandchildren Nathaniel, Mitchell, Joshua, Julia, and Emma.
