Lee graduated from Wilbraham Academy, then attended WPI where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the Air Force in 1968 where he served as an Avionics Officer fixing airplanes by flying into DaNang, Vietnam from South Korea and Cambodia. After the war, he furthered his education by attending the University of Rochester, earning an MBA. He founded Starrex, Inc. in Warren, MA, which specializes in manufacturing abrasives for super-finishing of metal and ceramic surfaces such as roller bearings. Erik Magnus joined to company several years ago and will continue to operate and advance the business long into the future.
He was an active member of the Republican Party and the NRA, had his pilot’s license, flew and owned his own plane out of Southbridge Airport. He had a passion for vintage Corvettes. He will be deeply missed.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 13 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
A funeral service will be held in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home on Monday, March 14 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Maple Street, Sturbridge, MA 01566.
