Sturbridge: Kevin R. Lariviere, 60, of Podunk Rd., passed away on January 2nd at UMASS-Harrington Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and craftsmanship.
Born in Southbridge, Kevin was the cherished son of Carol Tremblay and the late Russell Lariviere. He remained a devoted resident of the area throughout his life. In 1981, he graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School, where he laid the foundation for his future successes.
Kevin was known far and wide as a talented and meticulous finish carpenter. His exceptional craftsmanship graced numerous unique projects both locally and along the East Coast. For many years, Kevin dedicated his skills to restoring and remodeling commercial buildings while working under Bill Galonek. His attention to detail and dedication to his craft set him apart.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kevin was an active member of several community organizations. He supported the Eagles in Southbridge, served as a member of the American Legion in Fiskdale, and was previously associated with the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club. Through these associations, he formed lasting friendships with individuals who shared in his passion for community engagement.
Kevin's love for nature guided him towards outdoor pursuits that brought joy to his life. Hunting trips and fishing expeditions were treasured moments spent with beloved family members and close friends alike. These shared adventures created cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Kevin is survived by his loving mother Carol Tremblay and step-father Richard Tremblay of Sturbridge; two sisters Karen Olszta and her husband Tom of Naples, FL; Lisa Perreault and her partner James Grady of Princeton; step-sister Heather Longa and her husband Mark of Mansfield; step-brother Kevin Tremblay of Clearwater, FL. Additionally, he leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family members whose lives were touched by his presence.
Kevin will always be remembered for his incredible talent, kind-hearted nature, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
In honoring Kevin's memory, let us celebrate his life and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. May we find solace in the cherished memories we shared with him, forever holding his spirit close to our hearts.
