CHARLTON – Kenneth Kuehl, 84, of Ramshorn Rd., died Thursday, Dec. 19, in his home, surrounded by his family. His wife of 43 years, Barbara R. (Warren) Kuehl, died in March of 2007. He leaves his step son, Raymond J. Ciani, of Charlton; his brother Quentin Kuehl and his wife Cathy of Charlton; four grandchildren, Clay Ciani and his wife Melissa, John Ciani and his wife Noreen, William Ciani, Brenda (Ciani) MacGrath and her husband Todd; seven great-grandchildren. He was born in Charlton the son of the late Theadore and Althea (Lincoln) Kuehl and lived in the area all his life. He graduated from Charlton High School in 1942 and Pittsburg Mortuary College.
He was a B17 Bomber pilot during WWII, flying 33missions.
Mr. Kuehl retired from the American Optical Co after 33 years of service.
He enjoyed flying his vintage Culvert Cub airplane from Baylies Airstrip, for many years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His funeral will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, Dec. 23, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St, Southbridge. Fr. Bob Grattaroti of St. Joseph\'s Church will officiate. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton.
Calling hours are 9:00AM to 11:00AM Tuesday, Dec. 23, before the funeral service.
