Judith Martel

STURBRIDGE: Judith A. (Simpson) Martel, 65, of Main St. died Friday, April 15, at Massachusetts General Hospital after a short illness. Her husband Roger T. Martel died March 8, 1985. She leaves a son Michael R. Martel of Sturbridge, a daughter Elizabeth G. DiFederico wife of Steven DiFederico of Sturbridge, her mother Laura (Stone) Simpson of Sturbridge; four grandchildren Chelsea DiFederico; Emily DiFederico; Hannah Martel; Grace Martel; two aunts; a sister-in-law Joyce Simpson. Her brother Donald Simpson died in 2001. She was born in Sturbridge the daughter of the late David H. Simpson and lived in Sturbridge all her life. She graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School. She retired in September 2004, from J.C. Penney in Sturbridge after twenty three years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, traveling and was an avid Red Sox fan. Her funeral service will be held at TEN AM, Wednesday, April 20, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Sturbridge. Calling hours are FIVE to EIGHT Tuesday, April 19. in the funeral home.
