STURBRIDGE: Joyce M. (Lavers) MacWilliams. 88 of Charlton St. died Friday, Feb. 15th after an illness. She leaves her husband of 8 years Robert MacWilliams, two sons David Woodman of Calf. Phillip and his wife Patricia Woodman of Webster, two daughters Barbara Mageau of Southbridge, Marie Daley of Sturbridge, six grandchildren Scott Mageau Sr, Christopher Woodman, Holly Woodman, Alexander Daley, Benjamin Daley, Kathleen Daley and one great grandson Scott Mageau Jr. She was predeceased by her first husband Stuart Woodman who died in 1981 a brother Raymond Lavers and a sister Muriel Hlastawa.
Mrs. MacWilliams earned her BA degree from Worcester State College while she was in her 70â??s.
She was a member on the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sturbridge and was active in various church activities. She delivered Meals on Wheel and coordinated the Road to Recovery Program for the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and knitting. Her funeral will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, Feb. 19th in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at the intersection of Rt. 131 and Rt 20. in Sturbridge. Burial will follow in North Cemetery. Calling hours are 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Monday, Feb. 18 in Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. A fellowship gathering will be held at the church immediately following the burial.
