Joseph A Fera

Joseph Anthony Fera, 83, born on January 23rd, 1942, in Providence, RI, passed away peacefully on March 12th, 2025, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Albert Fera and Anna (Guinta) Fera and brother to the late Ann (Fera) Marston. He is survived by his loving and loyal wife of 42 years, Charlene (Dean) Fera, his devoted son Albert Fera, his beloved niece Charlene Marston- Palleschi, her husband Kenneth Palleschi, his sister-in-law Carole (Dean) Morsilli and his brother-in-law Richard Morsilli. He was the proud Uncle of Serena Palleschi, Gian Palleschi, Kristin DeMartin & Lisa Morsilli.

Joe was proudly born and raised in Federal Hill, a resident of Providence for over 70 years. Early in his life, Joe was a barber by trade but was a big part of the carnival circuit as he spent decades working across New England with his trusted cousin Harold Fera and Rockwell Amusements.

Joe also had his hand in the jewelry industry for many years. He was the owner of Knight’s Jewelry in Providence, RI as well as Rhode Island Wholesale in Las Vegas, NV. He, with longtime friend & confidant, Ronald Asdikian were co-owners of R.J. Lynch Industries & Comet Wholesalers.

Joe was a founding member of the San Gennaro Feast Society in Las Vegas, Nevada. By the side of his mentor, Jimmy Palmisano, Joe helped bring the 1st San Gennaro Feast to Las Vegas in 1980. To Joe’s delight, that same feast still occurs annually 45 years later.

A lover of J&B Scotch, there was not a barstool that Joe did not love to be seated at. He was quick to tell you a story or offer one of his famous “Joe Fera-isms”. He felt that life was to be lived, which he did…often.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave. Providence, RI 02909. Please meet directly at church. Burial will be private.
