STURBRIDGE, MA: North Tonawanda, NY Joseph Victor L. Despres, 77, formerly of Sturbridge, died Friday, Dec. 6 at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 55 years Beatrice (Bernard) Despres; 2 sons Michael Despres of Webster, Kevin and his wife Mary Despres of Southbridge, 2 daughters Linda Chenier and her husband Peter, Patricia Rubidoux of Southbridge, a brother Robert Despres of Hanover, PA, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was born in Thompson, CT, the son of Joseph and Adrienne (Gendreau) Despres and lived in the area most of his life until moving to No. Tonawanda 4 years ago.
He served in the US Air Force.
Victor retired from Quabaug Rubber Corp after many years of service.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening but most of all he enjoyed his family.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, from the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne’s Church, Church St., Fiskdale (off of RT 20).
Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the funeral home.
