Jose Ramos-Delgado

SOUTHBRIDGE: Jose L. Ramos-Delgado, 83, of School Street, Southbridge; died on Tuesday , February 23, in the UMASS Medical Center after an illness.
Jose leaves his wife of sixty-two years, Maria ( Altruz ) Ramos, ten children: Lilliam Ramos- Altruz of Ponce, PR, Maria del C. Bernazar of Port St John, FL, Danny S. Ramos of Ocoee, FL, Elba R. Garcia and Gerardo Ramos of Southbridge, Maria F. Cedeno of Worcester, Dinorah Burgette of Trinity, TX, Jose L. Ramos, Jr. of Hubbard-stone, Luis A. Ramos of Chester, VA and Jeannette Giaquinto of Southbridge, MA. He also leaves thirty-six grandchildren, forty - five great-grandchildren, and extended family. He raised Julio Gonzalez of Reading, Pennsylvania as his own son since infancy.
Jose was born in Ponce, PR on March, 1932, son of Juan E. Ramos-Torres and Marcolina Delgado-Medina; he lived in the Southbridge area for many years. He went to a Vocational School in Ponce. He also served in the Army during the Korean war. He carried a Construction and Refrigeration License. He retired from L&P Converters in Charlton. His hobbies included the making of guitars, specializing in the Quatro.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 AM, in St Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton St. Southbridge. A Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge, MA.
