John Joseph Severns “Jack” “Uncle Jack” of Southbridge, February 16, 1961 – April 25, 2021 SOUTHBRIDGE:  John Joseph Severns, 60, passed away Sunday, April 25, after a long illness.  He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late Charlotte “Mary” Marion (Smith, Severns, Gauthier) Stone, and the late Marcel F. R. Severns.  He leaves two brothers:  Arthur Smith and his wife Carol of Lakeland, FL, Shawn Severns and his predeceased lifelong partner Aida Alicia of Southbridge; four sisters: Bonnie Gaumond and her husband Paul of Southbridge, Ramona Severns of Sturbridge, Zinabeth Morin and her husband Erik of Southbridge and Cheryl Stone and her lifelong partner Glen King of Everett, WA; a step-sister Theresa Caderatte of Southbridge; a step-brother Joseph Gauthier of Charlton; many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by a brother Joseph A. Smith, two sisters: Thelma Louis Smith and Marcella M. (Severns) Houle and step- fathers:  Romeo Gauthier and Clarence W. Stone.  Jack worked many years in a variety of jobs, including roofing and construction.  He was a very talented “JACK” of all trades.  He was referred to by many people as “Uncle Jack “!  He had a great sense of humor and was a kind soul. Jack loved life and loved spending time with his family, friends and helping them.  He loved music (Skynyrd, Frampton, Eagles, etc.!!) carpentry, working on cars, being outside, walking and fishing. Jack also loved a good cup of coffee. JACK “UNCLE JACK” will be forever loved and not forgotten. JACK YOU ARE NOW A FREE BIRD! The family would like to thank Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center and Hospice of Western and Central Mass. for his care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Western and Central Mass. A private service will be held in Southbridge where Jack’s family will bring him to his place of rest.
