HOLLAND: John â??Jackâ? Flannery, 83, formerly of Holland, died Sunday, April 20th, at Life Care Center after an illness. His wife of 30 years Dorothy (Linn) Flannery died in 1979. He leaves 5 sons John of Unionville, CT. Thomas of Holland, Robert of Sommers, CT. Donald and Barry both of Stafford, CT. 3 daughters Patricia Banning of Enfield, CT. Janet Figelski of Auburn, Barbara Oster of Holland, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son James who died in 1962. He retired from Colt Firearms. He was a member of the Auburn Life Care Menâ??s Club, Hamilton Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Holland Fire Dept. At one time he was Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed camping, dancing, playing cards, going to the beach and trips to the casinos.
A Christian funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, April 24 in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery. Calling hours are 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday, April 23rd in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn Life Care Activities Fund, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, Ma. 01501.
