Joanne Start

CHARLTON: Joanne (Clarke) Start, 81, of Charlton, passed away on December 16, 2022, at home, with her family by her side.

She leaves behind her son Jeffrey Roy of Charlton; her 3 daughters Judith Hrubo and her husband William of Charlton, Joan McKeon and her husband William of Wheelwright, Pamela Mobry of Marblehead; 3 grandchildren Amanda MacWhinnie, Krystal Marment, and their significant others Chantelle and Jeremy, Brittany Russell and spouse Joseph, 2 great grandchildren Elijah, and Alysse. 

Joanne was born in Lawrence, daughter of the late John Clarke and Elise (Angeleri) Clarke. She was predeceased by her son Kevin MacWhinnie and her sister Georgia Hampton.

Joanne worked as a L.P.N. at Fairlawn Rehabilitation, Westside House and also at United Health Care in Westboro.

She had several pen pals that she enjoyed writing to until the time of her death. She loved spending time with her family and researching family genealogy.

She attended of St. Joseph’s Church, in Charlton.

The family would like to thank the professionals at Overlook Hospice for making it possible to have her home with her family.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at 4-6PM followed by a service, at 6PM in the Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, MA 01550.
