SOUTHBRIDGE – Jeanne O. (Cote) Nadeau, 83, of Chapin Street, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 in Harrington Memorial Hospital after an illness. Her husband, Conrad C. Nadeau, died in 1994. She leaves one son, Gerald C. Nadeau, of Holland; 4 daughters, Joanne White, of Florida, Elaine Langlois, of Southbridge, Carole Beausoleil, of Southbridge, and Vivian E. Skowron, of Brimfield; her longtime companion, John Grazier, of Southbridge; a sister, Rita Howe, of Orange; one brother, Robert Cote, of Florida;15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
She was born on July 18, 1925, in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Paul and Sophronie (Robidoux) Cote, and lived in the area her entire life. Mrs. Nadeau worked as the manager for the Pine Grove Motel, in Sturbridge. She also worked for Old Sturbridge Village and the American Optical. She was a member of Notre Dame Church. Mrs. Nadeau volunteered at local nursing homes, singing to the patients on the weekends. She was a “Patsy Cline” impersonator and at one time she could be seen on Community Auditions. She also enjoyed walking yodeling.
Calling hours will be held at 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursday, November 6, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge. Her funeral will be held at 9:00AM, Friday, November 7, from the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home followed with a Mass at 10:00AM in Notre Dame Church, 446Main St., Southbridge.
