DUDLEY: Jeanne Francis (Simonds) Horsley, of Dudley Oxford Rd. died Sunday, Dec. 4 at her home. She met her husband of 59 years, David Horsley at the Southbridge National Bank in Southbridge. Both graduated from Mary Wells High School in Southbridge, married at the historic church at Old Sturbridge Village.
Born in Wilkesbury, Pennsylvania on August 22, 1929, the daughter of Albert and June (Simonds) Simonds, and lived in the area many years.
She is also survived my 2 sons Scott Horsely of Cotuit, MA; Bryan Horsely of Storrs CT; a brother David Simonds of Voluntown, CT; a sister Lorna Menzies of Waverly, NY; 3 grandchildren Bryan, Shannon and Craigen. She was predeceased by her siblings June, Audrey, Judith and Russell.
During her life she was very active as a Director of Hubbard Regional Hospital and past president of the Nichols College Woman’s Club. She enjoyed taking trips with her family to Cape Cod and many of the Caribbean Islands. Her favorite island was Hawaii where she enjoyed vacationing with her entire family a few years ago. Queen Jeanne as she was known by her family will be dearly missed.
Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge is directing arrangements.
