Jan Alley

November 21, 1944 — December 21, 2014

WOODSTOCK, CT: Jan K. Alley, 70, of Little Bungee Hill Rd. died Sunday, December 21, 2014, in his home as result of a house fire.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Caroline (Reed) Alley; a sister Jerilyn Gourley of Bow, NH; brother-in-laws Anthony Reed of Woodstock, CT, Peter Reed of Webster, sister in law Katherine Reed of Newark, NY, and several nephews and nieces.

Jan was born in Concord, NH and lived in Woodstock for 35 years. He served in the Air force during the Vietnam War.

He worked for the State of Connecticut for the Department of Mental Health for many years until his retirement in 2001.

He was past president and served on the board for Bungee Lake Association.

His hobbies included coin collecting and finding buried treasures with a metal detector and non metal detector.

His graveside service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, in North Woodstock Cemetery, RT. 197, Woodstock, Ct.
