Brimfield/ Southbridge: James P. Houghton, 59, of Paige Hill Rd. Brimfield, died Tuesday Jan. 23rd after being stricken ill at home. He leaves his partner Timothy J. Rector, a brother Alan Houghton of Southbridge, a sister Marilyn Cass of West Springfield, and several nephews and nieces.
Jim graduated from Brown University. He was a Tax Examiner for Trans America Real Estate Tax and retired in 2004 after many years of service.
He was born in Springfield, Vt. and lived in the Southbridge area many years before moving to Brimfield.
A funeral service will be held at 10AM, Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Elm Street Congregational Church, Elm Street, Southbridge. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7:00PM to 9:00PM Friday, Jan. 26, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
